Those retirees receiving Social Security will receive a $250 one-time amount payment in May as a separate check. You have probably already been made aware of this.

Those retirees who do not collect Social Security will have to wait until they file their 2009 taxes in 2010 to receive their $250 in the form of a tax rebate.

Obviously if you are eligible for the Social Security amount in May you will not collect the rebate amount as well.
